The experience was a lot more than I expected. It was transcending. I don’t think it can be explained unless you experience it. You can give a gist overall of like feeling really close to the earth and people, strangers who are also on a healing path. But, you just have to experience it.

It was gorgeous. It was empowering and calming. There was a wonderful balance of the work we put in with time to be calm, which I think is extremely important. A really beautiful job of incorporating it all and aligning the pottery process with the meditations and emotional reflections.

The first “wow” moment was literally when we walked into the property. That place is just magical and so from the moment we arrived you just have a smile on your face and you know it’s just going to be a wonderful experience.

The retreat was over the expectation. My favorite part was to clean the clay. It felt so good. It was my favorite moment.

It’s therapy in paradise. Whatever you need it’s here for you.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience. From stunning accommodations to incredible yoga and all of the clay & sisterhood in between.

Working with clay lights a fire in me. It clears my mind, grounds me, and inspires me. Digging up raw clay from the earth, and taking it all the way to a fired vessel took those feelings to the next level. It was easy to imagine our ancient ancestors sitting around a fire, more like us than unlike us, building vessels out of necessity, but also making them beautiful for the joy of it.

Creating beautiful and special things from only what mother earth gives us was a wonderful reminder that abundance is all around us. What a gift.

A beautiful blend of internal reflection and external expression. Feeling relaxed, purposeful, and excited to apply my experience in everyday life.

Submerged into the art of creating pottery from wild clay. Lulled to sleep by waves crashing upon the rocks. Awoken to the bright sun breaking through the wooden slates of our windows. Filled with awe as the whales waved hello from the sea. Hands crushing into soil, then clay, then ocean.

My journal is brimming with reflections.

The retreat was very thoughtfully curated by our host Jess who created a beautiful, inviting space for us to be open and vulnerable while learning the primitive craft of hand sculpting with natural clay. Every step of the process was imbued with deep meaning and made deliberate with intention, which turned the art of pottery building into something reverent and transformative. This was an unforgettable exploration where art and healing are confronted and embraced in tandem.

This was an opportunity to reconnect with nature, with art, and ultimately with myself, in a space among such strong and inspiring women. I hope to live my life as my vessel - resilient and imperfect, filled to the brim with love that pours from the spout and ripples into others.

It wasn’t a group of brand professionals. It was a group of women coming together to connect, create, enjoy each other, the experience and hopefully getting some healing.

The energy was AMAZING.

That magic flame was gone and the retreat gave me that back.

The retreat gave me a gift of showing that I CAN create. That I AM capable. That I AM a creative being.

Words really don’t do this weekend justice ✨…but if you put together a bunch of badass and chill women who you just instantly click with, a gorgeous location beneath tall oaks and a starry sky, the most delicious meals made with so much thoughtfulness you could taste it, and add tons of laughs and tears and wine and cussing and hugs, you kind of sort of get an idea 😉 oh, and we made some awesome and unique pots too. And I swam in the lake.

I walked away feeling like I had a unique opportunity to look at myself in a different way, a new way, one that allowed me to explore emotions, creation and spirituality through this process of making my tiny little pot. I had never done something like that before and it was unique and inspiring to use my hands to connect with something deeper.

It was really wonderful to be able to give my complete attention to a creative project and not be interrupted or distracted. And to really get into the flow state and see a project from beginning to end. I really loved my time and I just had a blast.

It was the perfect balance of learning a new skill, a new thing about the world, like that this is just out there; the perfect combination of that with meditation and looking inward. I don't have that many opportunities to do that kind of thing in my life—where those two things blend. It was a stepping stone to a broader journey that I want to try to cultivate and pay attention to in my life.
